Samsung Launches Smartwatch : Galaxy Gear With Android 4.3 ( Jellybean)

The Galaxy Gear, Samsung's latest engineering marvel, is here in front of us. Today, the South Korean giant introduces company's first ever smart watch - Galaxy Gear. You can say Gear as a fashion accessory or companion to your Note 3.
It's not a smartphone by any means, but you can make or receive calls. The Galaxy Gear can take up notifications and can be used as a regular watch. The intelligent watch uses Bluetooth connection which makes the experience hassle free.
"Samsung's ongoing smart device innovation leadership reflects our commitment to listen to our consumers, who want their daily lives to be easier and more enjoyable. Samsung GALAXY Gear benefits consumers by integrating smart device technology even deeper into their everyday lives, and bridges the gap between the mobile device and fashion worlds to create truly wearable technology," said JK Shin, CEO and President of IT & Mobile Division, Samsung Electronics.
Samsung says Galaxy Gear will be compatible with latest Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition. But soon consumers having Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3 and Note 2 will be able to take advantage of Galaxy Gear.
Android 4.3 Jelly Bean mobile OS, is the real reason behind  why Samsung's Galaxy Gear, is worth checking out. Talking about the specifications, the Gear comes with a 1.63-inch Super AMOLED display having resolution of 320 x 320 pixels.
Under the hood, there is a single core 800MHZ processor coupled with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory. Samsung promises up to 25 + hours of battery backup. Samsung Galaxy Gear comes in six dashing colors. The design of Galaxy Gear matters most to a smart watch buyer. A solid metallic frame (or dial) gives the watch solid feel. It's little chunky and over the top.
You can change rubberized wrist bands as per your choice. The watch also comes with a 1.9-mega pixel BSI sensor and 10-second 720p HD video recording is also possible. The makers have added a 315mAh non-removable battery. The control scheme is quite interesting. You can control the watch via your voice. There are two mics built-in for noise cancellation. Also add a loud speaker. Samsung S Voice is also compatible with Gear smart watch.
The most loud point of Samsung Galaxy Gear is surely support of third-party apps. Samsung has partnered with 70 app makers. Popular apps including Evernote , Path, RunKeeper and MyFitnessPal are coming to Galaxy Gear.
Samsung says Galaxy Gear to be made globally in September 2013. In the US, Galaxy Gear will be made available to consumers at $299 (Rs 20,000 Approx.).
